TAMARA DURICKA
Journalist. Author. Editor. Speaker.

I specialize in turning "good" into "great."
I'm a helper: an editor who polishes books, essays, and scripts; a journalist with nearly 30 years of experience and is known as a go-to leader in the newsroom; an award-winning author of a memoir about hope, love, and seeing the best in others; a professional speaker who coaches those looking to improve their writing, their next steps, and even their relationships; and a volunteer who believes that community is built by supporting and serving one another.
I'm curious and thrive on getting to know people and discovering what's most important to them. Although I love motivating others and speaking to large crowds, I'm just as comfortable having a heart-to-heart conversation with one or two people.
My genuine interest in others comes in handy as a journalist. My favorite stories are those involving people dealing with some sort of lifestyle challenge or victory. I believe we are all alike more than we differ.
I met my husband during my own personal challenge: a month-long binge of unconventional first dates in New York City. You can read all about my dating adventures in my award-winning memoir, 31 DATES IN 31 DAYS.
My career as a television news producer and writer prompted my zig-zagging across the country, living in cities where I've been able to work among some of the kindest people. No matter where I live, one thing remains constant: I prefer fall weather and hot chocolate.
I live in Los Angeles with my husband (one of my 31 dates!) and or three daughters. I spend my days writing and editing while juggling school drop-offs, volunteering, and spending every second I can with my family
Okay, your turn. What's your story? I'd love to hear from you.
